This program offers five essential tools to help individuals respond safely when they experience or witness street harassment. To date, more than 2 million people have been trained with Stand Up across 42 countries. In India alone, Stand Up has trained 608,000 individuals.
5D Methodology
The “5Ds” are strategies for people to learn how to safely intervene in street harassment situations. They are “Distract” (act like you know them, ask for the time, create a diversion), “Delegate” (find someone who can help and ask them to step in), “Document” (observe and record and offer to report), “Direct” (tell the harasser to stop, stand up and protect, call for help) and “Delay” (support the person after and acknowledge the behavior was wrong).

Right To Be is a pioneer in the campaign to stop harassment. It began as a blog where young people could post their stories of harassment and soon became a worldwide effort. Right To Be collaborates with communities to comprehend the issue, spark public discussions, and create novel solutions that make everyone feel safe and welcome.
