A classic example is the partnership between Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, whose shared vision and complementary skills led to the creation of Apple. When the truth about Theranos' fraudulent practices emerged, these connections quickly dissolved, leading to legal consequences and the collapse of the company. This case highlights that while networking can offer significant advantages, its true power lies in authenticity and credibility.

Users who actively share insights, engage in meaningful discussions, and support others in their industry tend to build stronger networks compared to those who merely send connection requests without further interaction. This principle applies to offline networking as well, where attending industry events, participating in discussions, and offering genuine assistance contribute to deeper professional relationships. 


How to Build a Strong and Ethical Network

To harness the full potential of networking, individuals and businesses should prioritize ethical relationship-building practices. This involves:

  • Focusing on long-term relationships rather than short-term gains. Genuine connections take time to develop and should be nurtured over time.
